Academic Requirements

GCSE Requirements

GCSE Requirements for Leeds Medical School are:

• Maths - Grade 6 minimum
• English - Grade 6 minimum
• Science - Grade 6 minimum in minimum in Biology and Chemistry or Dual Award Science.
• Other requirements - 6 GCSEs at grade 6 minimum including English Language, Maths, Biology and Chemistry (or Dual Award Science)

A-levels or Scottish Higher requirements.

AAA at A level including Chemistry and Biology. Please note that Human Biology, Sports Science, Further Mathematics and Statistics are only accepted as a 4th A level noting that 4th A levels do not form part of their scoring system.

Scottish Highers: Typical offer AAAAB at Higher including Biology and Chemistry, and AB at Advanced Higher, including A in Chemistry or Biology.

International Baccalaureate

36 points with a mark of 6 in 3 Higher Level subjects one of which must be Chemistry or Biology. Two subjects from Chemistry, Biology, Maths and Physics must also be offered at either Higher or Standard Level if not offered at GCSE. If English not offered at GCSE, this must be offered with a mark of at least 5 at Standard level.

Graduate Applicant Degree Requirements

2.1 in any discipline, awarded in the past three years and ABB at A-Level including Chemistry and Biology, with either at grade A. The standard GCSE requirements apply.
