Queen Mary University of London (Barts)
Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry (Queen Mary, University of London) provides the following courses that require UCAT:
- Medicine (A100)
- Medicine Graduate Entry (A101)
- Medicine (Queen Mary – Malta) (A110)
- Medicine with preliminary year (Queen Mary - Malta) (A120)
- Dentistry (A200)
Interviews awarded based 50% on UCAT and 50% on academic ability. Will not be considered for interview if UCAT score is below the third decile.
Range of scores invited to interview in 2019 was 2300 - 3410.
Your personal statement will help interviewers ask you relevant questions. Interviewers look for applicants who have participated as fully as possible in school or college life, and who have also contributed in some way to the outside community.
GCSE Requrements for Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry are:
- Maths - Grade 6 minimum (Additional Mathematics or Statistics also acceptable)
- English - Grade 6 minimum
- Science - Grade 6 minimum
- Other requiremants - 777666 minimum in Biology (or Human Biology), Chemistry, English Language, and Mathematics. The Science Double Award may substitute all sciences at GCSE
GCSEs are not scored. Only minimum requirements needed
A-levels or Scottish Higher requirements.
A*AA at A level including Chemistry or Biology and a second science subject (Chemistry, Biology, Physics or Maths). Any third A level can be taken except for General Studies or Critical Thinking, or Further Maths if Maths is taken too.
AAA in Scottish Highers, including Biology and Chemistry. Grades AA in Advanced Highers in two of the subjects offered at Scottish Highers, including Chemistry and/or Biology
38 points with a minimum of 6 points in the Higher level science subjects and 6 points in the third Higher level subject. Three subjects are required, including Chemistry or Biology and one other science or mathematical subject at Higher level, and three subjects at Standard level including Chemistry or Biology, if not offered at the Higher level.
Graduate Applicant Degree Requirements
Applicants with a 2:1 degree in a bioscience subject have no further A level requirements in Biology or Chemistry; if in science subject that does not contain these elements then minimum grade C in Biology or Chemistry is required; if in a non-science degree then minimum grade B in Biology or Chemistry is required plus one other science also at grade B.
